From The Marrow

OFFICIAL ALBUM RELEASE

I am very relieved and proud to have released my latest full length LP “From The Marrow”. It officially launched Oct. 15, 2021 and is available for download and streaming. This intimate collection of alternative-acoustic songs was written primarily over the course of 2020, with the song “Eagle Eyes” being the last track written and added to the record just days before completing production in March of 2021. I originally set out to record a stripped down, 5 song EP in January of 2020, however life and personal struggles resulted in major delays. There were moments I was not sure I’d even be able to resume the project. However, I ended up writing and composing some of my most moving and transparent music in every way during the waiting. What was forecast to be an EP grew song by song into a full album as the process unfolded, resulting in a record where each song pulls you into a tangible experience.

Before meeting with producer Matt Patrick to vision cast this project I had decided that I wanted to play as many of the instruments as I possibly could, building each layer of the songs, with a desire to challenge myself and allow my distinct finger print to be on this music. This made for a unique experience, and it turned out better than I had even hoped. Though as the project developed Matt Patrick continued revealing himself as an extraordinary multi-instrumentalist, and he also contributed a myriad of things by the time we finished. One of the highlights on the record is certainly the incredible string performance by David Gerald Sutton on track no. 2 - Daylight (Never Left) and getting the opportunity to work out an arrangement with such a skilled artist was a privilege.

I want to give a sincere thanks to my amazing wife and daughters who patiently stood by and encouraged me through some intense darkness and anxiety. I give thanks to the Lord who is my source and granted me strength. Thank you.

Release Show

My album release show was a special night of music and sharing stories. I played through 17 original songs - 9 of which are from the new album - and both of my remastered singles from 2008 “Peace Tree” and “Teeth Are Gnawing” . I also performed some new, unreleased material that went really well.

It was a wonderful priviledge to be joined by my friends Reese Kling and Matt Patrick to play as an ensemble and bring these compositions to life! Reese and I go way back into my earliest days of making music, and he is an incredibly talented and hard working percussionist. Having Matt was a treat since he is so intimately acquainted with many of the songs due to his role as an engineer/producer on this record, and he can play and adapt to almost anything.
